Worship is at the heart of God’s people
and has always been a very important part of the life of
Seneca Presbyterian, from our founding in 1875 to the
present day. Our worship services are authentic in spirit
and truth, and are intended to glorify and magnify God!
Whether you prefer the great hymns of the church, a pipe
organ and choir, or a worship band playing the current
Christian worship hits of the day, there is something for
everyone at Seneca Prez.

Contemporary Worship Service
Early in
2008, we added a contemporary worship service to our Sunday
morning schedule. Our teams went to work, adding a high tech
sound system, dual projection system and other modern
technology to the worship center without affecting the
aesthetic beauty of the sanctuary where the service is held.
The worship service begins at 9:00 a.m., preceded by
fellowship with coffee and delicious morning refreshments
starting at 8:30.
It was a
challenge to add the sophisticated equipment in the
sanctuary in such a way as to respect the traditional
worship environment, but our
team did just that. Each Sunday morning, through the efforts
of a wonderful team, the sanctuary is transformed from a
contemporary worship setting back to the traditional. We have
been blessed with a willing and capable crew and worship
team! |

Our Worship Team
Our
contemporary worship team is led by the Pastor and
Rob
Krabbe,
who has led contemporary and traditional worship for over 20
years. The worship band is comprised of a keyboardist,
guitarist, drummer, bass player, singers, and various other
musicians depending on the week. If you have an interest in
being involved in this team, please contact the
church
office,
and an audition can be set up.

Traditional Worship Service
Seneca Presbyterian’s traditional worship service is at
11:00 a.m. The service involves the choir, organ, using the rich
heritage of hymns, as well as music by more modern
composers. Special vocalists and instrumentalists further
enhance this service from time to time. We are fortunate to
have very talented and capable leaders in our choir director
and organist. See more about them on the
staff page. Also
see elsewhere on this page for details about the
organ.
In
addition to the pastor, lay worship leaders (liturgists)
help to lead worship each Sunday, with other members being
involved from time to time for special services.
Communion
Communion, also referred to as the Lord’s Supper, is
celebrated at both worship services the first Sunday of each
month. At the contemporary service it is usually served by intinction, where people come forward to dip the bread in
the cup. At the traditional service the elements are usually
passed to people in the pews.
Communion in this church and the Presbyterian Church is
open. which means that you need not be a member of this congregation nor a
Presbyterian. We believe this is the Lord’s Supper, not ours,
and we invite all who profess Christ as
Lord and Savior, together with their children.

Our Choir
The choir is under the direction of Emmalyn Frye. Emmalyn is a wonderful and experienced director, who was
the choir and vocal teacher at Daniel High
School for many years. We sing SAB and SATB music and
have a great time! Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:30
P.M. to 8:30 P.M. in the choir room. Please join us.

SPECIAL SEASONAL
SERVICES
The
church year provides many occasions for special worship
services. Among those are a series of interdenominational Lenten
services that are held at various churches in the community, and evening Holy Week services
that rotate among local
Presbyterian congregations. During Advent and Christmas we
light the Advent Candles each Sunday and our worship
services are filled with various forms of celebrating
Christ’s coming and presence. Highlights of the season are a
5:00 p.m. family and children's service on Christmas Eve and
a beautiful 11:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Communion and
Candlelight service.

Our Organ
Read details
about our pipe organ
as told by Robert Moffat, our former organist. It is an
instrument with a rich history!
